The Truman Project consists of 91 unpatented lode claims covering 1,080 acres in Mineral County, Nevada. The project is located near the center of the Walker Lane golden corridor, a historic mineral trend which hosts such significant deposits as the Goldfield District with 5.9 million ounces of gold production and reserves, and the Comstock District with historic production of 8.4 million ounces of gold and 193.5 million ounces of silver. The ultimate target for the Truman Project is a “Borealis Type” bulk minable gold and/or silver deposit.
Previous exploration has helped define high grade gold and silver values occurring in veins and low grade gold values occurring in bulk minable configurations, and has identified a total of eight epithermal gold and silver targets.
To date, Ranger Gold has compiled and analyzed historic data including geology, alteration, 67 drill holes, 300 soil samples and 700 rock chip samples. This analysis has identified several high-priority targets that are scheduled for further exploration which will include the drilling of at least twenty holes. A brief description of the target areas are as follows:
Panorama – This area is reported to have produced hand sorted ore in the early 1900′s that ran +30 opt silver. Samples from a silver rich breccia area on the southwest side of the property contained 7 to 20 feet widths grading 1.1 to 9.5 opt silver from underground stopes.
Breccia Ridge – North of the silver rich area, a jasperoid breccia occurs along an easterly trending fault zone. The structure is approximately 50 feet wide. Two samples from this area averaged 0.015 opt gold.
Range Front – East of the silver rich area are a number of short air track holes drilled in the early 1980′s. The holes encountered gold mineralization from 20 feet grading 0.06 opt to 60 feet grading 0.02 opt. Drilling by Phelps Dodge in the late 1980′s intersected 60 feet grading 0.018 opt gold.
Jasperoid Ridge – Northeast of the Range Front target are two major adits. Underground sampling and mapping indicate gold values from 0.015 to 0.05 opt over widths from 10 to 60 feet. Stoping has occurred near the back of the upper adit. The stoping nearly reaches surface and goes to depths of 20 feet or more. It is presumed from the historic underground work that grades of greater than a tenth of ounce would be required to do the amount of work completed.
Hound Dog – The Hound Dog area contains multiple structural zones with silicification and argillization. Grab samples from old workings include values from 0.07 to 0.56 opt gold and significant silver. Underground and surface chip samples produced 10 feet grading 0.017 opt and 20 feet grading 0.022 opt gold.
Recent breakthroughs in geologic concepts in the immediate area and ore models typified by the aforementioned targets, coupled with the historic results collected from others work, have provided an excellent opportunity for Ranger to take advantage of.
